LTE and 5G RAN Software Verification Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and technically advanced Developer to work on the front-end development of emerging features in LTE and 5G. The successful candidate will work as a member of the LTE and 5G Radio capacity verification team in Ottawa. As a member of the team you will work shoulder-to-shoulder with other developers responsible for verifying performance and functionality of LTE and 5G features. You have the opportunity to learn cutting-edge LTE and 5G technology. On job training will be provided. The close-knit team has adopted Lean and Agile ways of working, which means continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing is part of the daily work.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team and on your own to validate new LTE and 5G features and characterize end-to-end performance before the software is released to end customers
  • Perform Continuous Analysis and Requirement Handling
  • Develop test plan and reviewing test results
  • Develop automated test tools capabilities
  • Develop automated LTE and 5G test cases
  • Develop and support software build and integration tools
  • Trouble shoot and help to resolve issues with the test environment
  • Report on test results

Key Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of wireless communications and radio technologies. Experience in one or more of the following radio access technologies: LTE, WCDMA/HSPA and CDMA
  • Minimum two years of RAN testing and verification experience
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and computer skills
  • Ability to work well in teams. Experience working multi-site
  • Knowledge of Java, C++ , Excel and scripting skills are assets
  • Academic background: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Interpersonal skills: Independent, self-starter, team player who is organized, detail oriented and able to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective English oral and written communications skills.
