Junior Conveyance Municipal Infrastructure Project Engineer – Ottawa, ON

CH2M is searching for a Junior Conveyance Municipal Infrastructure Project Engineer to join our Ottawa team. This individual needs to be focused on the delivery of projects and programs for CH2M’s clients. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a roster of projects, with the number of projects depending on their sizes. This position understands how projects impact the company’s performance. The incumbent should be willing to work in a team environment, interact with clients and approval agencies, and assist senior project managers in their deliverables. Responsibilities: Be responsible for overall work progress and technical performance on the projects. Work closely with senior project managers to help deliver project deliverables. Be a key component of the project team through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout, consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget and other specified requirements stated in the contract. Write detailed design reports, proposals, evaluations, and technical memos with minimal direction. Serve as a junior construction inspector on linear municipal infrastructure (roads, highways, watermains, sewers, culverts, etc). Assist senior staff with business development and client management activities.The minimum qualifications for this position are:Strong aptitudes for technical design and project management skills related to linear municipal infrastructure (primarily roads, highways, watermains, sewers, culverts, etc.) Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or applicable discipline and/or equivalent experience). 2-3 years of experience in an Engineering consulting environment preferred. Experience with construction inspection of linear infrastructure works is an asset. Experience with highways is an asset. Licensed P.Eng. in the Province of Ontario, or EIT candidate. Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation is an asset. Excellent communication skills, time management and organizational skills. Strong writing skills. Experience with pre-design site review an asset.
