Position Summary

This position is located in PDU Radio Ottawa, Ontario, in the Radio Algorithm Design & Implementation team. Successful Candidate will be responsible for RTL design for new multi-standard radio base station products for 5G, LTE, W-CDMA, and GSM networks. Explicitly, position requires participation in defining programmable device functional specification, implementing RTL code, and performing device implementation verification. The Ottawa team works very closely with other Radio Teams located in Sweden and China.

This is a New Grad position within our Radio Algorithm Design & Implementation team. It is not necessary for candidates to have any working experience.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Participation in gathering requirements based on customer and Ericsson needs.
  • Participation in defining programmable device functional specification.
  • Participation in programmable device RTL coding, simulation and verification, following Ericsson RTL development processes.
  • Collaborating with the HW and SW development teams for best possible programmable device implementation.
  • Contribute to Innovation and Ericsson IPR, file Invention disclosures and Patents
  • Contribute to continuous improvements of products, simulation tools and processes
  • Participation in supporting the deployment of new Radio products and features into customer networks

Position Qualifications

  • Background in communications theory and digital signal processing
  • Basic knowledge of 3GPP specifications, especially in the area of Radio performance characteristics
  • Experience in SW OO Programming will be an asset for this position
  • Analytical mindset, high capacity, result oriented and ability to deliver under pressure
  • Excellent English skills, both verbal and written, providing effective communication building strong relationships internally as well as externally
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Candidate should be highly motivated, a self-starter, and a team player

Bachelor degree in a relevant area, or equivalent experience, preferably with demonstrated experience and knowledge in the above mentioned required skills areas
