Human Resources Manager


This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted July 12, 2017.

– Create and implement recruitment plans to attract qualified candidates to the organization
– Conduct interviews for any applicable interview based postings
– Participate in the development of orientation and training for staff and volunteers and coordinates and track implementation
– Provide information and support to staff regarding compensation, benefits and employment conditions, in association with the Benefits Administrator
– Manage grievances at the first two stages and advise senior management regarding grievances taken further
– Manage Health and Safety documents, including Fire Drills and Monthly H&S Checklists on a monthly basis
– Review human rights, employment equity and employment liability legislation to ensure organizations policy is compliant and educates the organization regarding changes
– Maintain organizations HR information system
– Liaise between front line staff and management in order to convey different points of view and help negotiate solutions to personnel issues in the best interests of the organization as a whole
– Undergraduate degree/diploma in HR administration or related field
– Two years HR management administration experience
– Experience in recruitment and retention, HR policy and procedures, employee relations and HR management information systems
– Thorough knowledge of, and experience in, personnel practices with proven experience in human resource management
– Proficient at using MS Office suite
– Able to manage multiple and conflicting priorities
– Excellent oral and written communication skills
