Environmental Specialist

This rewarding Environmental Project opportunity is with our downtown Ottawa National Association client. The role is a contract offer with a potential permanent offer at the end of the contract period. 

Roles and Responsibilities

– Working with our Industry Association client as their specialist on Environmental Stewardship, the role will encompass a dynamic balance of research, policy development/analysis, stakeholder and advocacy for their Industry Association Members to the federal government
 – Familiar with the governing Environmental Legislation such as: Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA), Fisheries Act (FA), Species at Risk Act (SARA), and Migratory Birds Convention Act (MBCA) and would be able to work with diverse stakeholders on their common issues, conduct the research and analysis for presentations/meetings on shared issues.
 – Would possess strong client focused skills, well rounded communications skills and be familiar with the trends and issues affecting corporations doing business in Canada

Qualifications and Experience
Bringing 7 years related Environmental experience with government, industry and non-government organizations (NGOs).
 – Bachelor or higher degree in Environmental field or in Public Policy
 – French will be a strong asset

Education and Certifications Minimum education required: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred field of study: Environmental
