Senior Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper needed for our non-profit client located in Ottawa South-East. This is a residential treatment facility for men who suffer from addiction. It is a very volatile environment that requires someone with thick skin as there will be some interaction with the residents of the facility.

We are looking for someone with 5+ years of experience working as a Bookkeeper, ideally with Non-Profit working experience who is proficient in Quickbooks. You will be working most closely with the Executive Director, Inventory and Accounts Payable Clerk.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Daily bank reconciliations and deposits
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable 
  • Manage Accounts Receivable 
  • Maintain the general ledger and trial balances
  • Provide financial reports and analysis monthly and annually
  • WSIB and government remittances 
  • Administer bi-weekly payroll for up to 21 employees and administer employee benefits
  • Provide support to the Administrative and Fundraising staff
  • Manage and control inventory including improving and implementing controls and processes

  • 5+ years’ of experience as a Bookkeeper
  • Proficient using Quickbooks 
  • Experience working for a non-profit is considered an asset
  • Ability to implement business objectives in a dynamic and busy environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, with proven ability to multi-task in a volatile environment

Education and Certifications
Minimum education required: College Diploma
Preferred field of study: Accounting Medical and Dental benefits
